Markets and Trading
The market module is the primary entry point of PolyEdge. It helps users find active markets among a large number of prediction markets and make trading judgments using prices, order books, news, and capital flows.
Market Browsing
You can browse markets by topic, such as politics, sports, crypto, geopolitics, and elections. For short-cycle opportunities, focus on fast markets.

When browsing markets, pay attention to:
- 24-hour volume: reflects recent activity.
- Total volume: reflects market maturity.
- Liquidity: affects slippage and execution difficulty.
- End time: determines the information window and trading duration.
- Current probability: can be understood as the market’s pricing of the event probability.
Market Details
After entering a market detail page, focus on:
- Probability trend: judge the rhythm of price movement.
- Order book: judge bid/ask depth and potential slippage.
- Market status: active, ended, or resolving.
- Best bid/ask: judge the currently executable price.
- Related smart money: check whether high-value wallets are involved.
Order Principles
Before placing an order, confirm that:
- You understand the market’s resolution rules.
- You are willing to bear the maximum loss of the order.
- Market liquidity is sufficient for your order size.
- During rapid moves up or down, market orders may create significant slippage.
Common Trading Modes
| Mode | Suitable Scenario | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Manual YES/NO buy | The user already has a clear view | Requires judging whether the price is reasonable |
| Limit order | You want to control the fill price | May not fill immediately |
| Market order | You want fast execution | Requires attention to slippage and order-book depth |
| Sell position | Take profit, stop loss, or adjust exposure | Low-value positions may be affected by minimum order limits |
Settlement and Redemption
After a market ends, the final result usually needs to wait for the oracle or Polymarket settlement flow. If you hold winning-side tokens, you may redeem them in supported markets. For some special market types, you may need to handle redemption on the official Polymarket page.
